We are seeking an experienced and innovative organisation who can work with Heart of England Music to provide contemporary music group opportunities for targeted groups of children & young people
We require the delivery of two contemporary music groups (instrumental and/or music technology focus). One group will be specifically for Looked After Children & Young People (LAC, pLAC, Kinship Arrangement, CWSW cohorts), the second group will be open to all children & young people regardless of background or musical experience.
Each group session will last for 45 minutes, 1.5hrs in total for the two groups each week. A schedule of 10 sessions will be delivered each term to a pre agreed annual timetable, with a concert in week 11 of each term at which the groups will be expected to perform. 33 weeks of delivery in total through the academic year.
The two group sessions may be identical for the different cohorts of students, or different. The genre delivered can be the same through the year, or change each term and may include (but not limited to: Rock & Pop Group, Music Production, DJ’ing, Beatboxing, Songwriting etc). Resourcing support for instruments and equipment can be provided by the Music Hub. We anticipate that a member of the Music Centre staff team will be available to support the delivery of each group session.
Particular consideration will be given to applications who have a track record of working with young people who are looked after, or of working with children and young people who face barriers to learning.
The successful organisation will be expected to work in collaboration with the East Music Centre team, including staff, the Area Leader and Lead Teacher for Contemporary Music.
The ability to provide appropriate cover in response to deliverer absence to ensure ongoing weekly delivery is essential.
