Friday 6th February saw the inaugural Heart of England Music Education Conference at Warwick University, where around 130 music educators from the region representing over 100 settings attended.
The 2026 Heart of England Music Hub Education Conference received exceptionally positive feedback, with an average satisfaction rating of 4.76 out of 5 and 100% of delegates stating that the conference met their expectations.
Teachers praised the inspiring keynote from Darren Abrahams, highly practical workshops across EYFS, primary and secondary, and the rich opportunities for networking and professional collaboration. Highlights included the Oodles of Noodles rhythm session, Ofsted updates, Charanga training, assessment guidance, and a wide range of handson activities delegates could take back to their classrooms immediately.
Delegates welcomed the variety of workshops, the quality of presenters, and the strong focus on SEND inclusion, early years teaching, and practical creativity.
We are thrilled that so many teachers found the day inspiring, useful, and energising, and we look forward developing this annual event.
Mark Steele Coventry Music Lead and a Strategic Leader for the Hub said “The teachers who attended today all left with new skills and tools that they can take back to the classroom to use immediately. We were delighted by the energy and passion for music education in the room and it is great to see the drive to improve opportunities for all our young people across the whole Hub region”
